ESLT Summer School 2020 gaat online door
De ESLT Summer School zal deze zomer online doorgaan. Onder de noemer "Training the Teacher of Literary Translation" zullen circa 20 deelnemers van 8 t/m 11 september een afwisselend programma volgen rond vertaalonderwijs. Dankzij de verplaatsing naar online is de inschrijfdatum verschoven naar 26 juni 2020. Ook is het deelnametarief verlaagd.
Door het evenement online in plaats van in Rome te laten plaatsvinden kan de organisatie verder met de voorbereidingen, zonder het risico te lopen dat de Summer School toch nog afgelast zou moeten worden. Zodra er meer details bekend zijn over het evenement, worden ze toegevoegd aan deze webpagina.
Voor vertalers in of uit het Nederlands die worden toegelaten, en geen gebruik kunnen maken van de kortingsregeling voor ESLT alumni (zie hieronder), stelt het ELV een tegemoetkoming beschikbaar van €50. Deze bijdrage wordt verrekend met het inschrijfgeld, dat daardoor niet €100 maar €50 wordt.

Programme
The fourth annual ESLT Summer School will bring together around 20 translators and educators from across Europe who are passionate about teaching literary translation. The four-day programme will include a mixture of online seminars, workshops and panel discussions.
Costs
On confirmation of acceptance, a registration fee of €100,00 (incl. VAT) will be payable to ESLT to cover all tuition. Returning ESLT alumni are automatically eligible for a 50% discount.
Eligibility
The Summer School aims to bring together literary translators (at any stage in their career) who are keen to develop their teaching skills and find out about innovations in the field. Applications from outside Europe are welcome. Participants must be aged 18 or over.
Application Procedure
Applicants should submit the following two documents (in English):
- A letter of motivation, including an indication of the role and strategic impact of participation in the ESLT Summer School in your career planning;
- A full CV, including contact details and a record of translation practice.
Applications should be submitted by e-mail by 26 June 2020 to eslt@fusp.it. Successful participants will be notified by the beginning of July 2020.
