Noëlle Michel (b. 1979) became a professional translator in 2013 and translates books since 2017. She translates fiction, nonfiction, graphic novels and children books from Dutch into French. She lives and works in Ghent (Belgium). She also writes fiction. Her first novel "Viande" was published in 2020 (Lilys Éditions). Her second novel "Demain les ombres" was published in 2023 (Le bruit du monde) and translated into Dutch (Standaard Uitgeverij - Tzara) and English (Simon & Schuster).
She is a.o. the French translator of novels from Marente de Moor (Phon, Les Argonautes), Ewoud Kieft (The Imperfected, Actes Sud) and Hanna Bervoets (We had to remove this post, Le bruit du monde), children books from Tom Schamp (Albin Michel Jeunesse) and Matilda Masters (La Martinière Jeunesse), of nonfiction books from Jan Brokken (The Just, Noir sur Blanc), Dirk De Wachter (La Martinière) and Marian Donner (In Praise of Wilder Lives, Cherche Midi).
